个体量词是汉藏语系独有的词类,而汉语个体量词数量之多,发展历史之长,用法之复杂是其它民族语言无法比拟的。对汉语个体量词发展史的研究具有重要理论意义和实践价值,是将来建立完整量词发展史乃至汉语词汇史和语法史的重要组成部分,可以为现代汉语、对外汉语的教学与研究提供理论依据,可以为工具书的编写和修订提供借鉴和参考,甚至可以为＂问题文献＂的断代提供参考。
