Through reviewing the background of China＇ s neo-urbanization process and the formation of smarter city, the article summarizes its connotation and characteristics. Based on the examples of Guangzhou＇ s urban planning practices in recent years, the author discusses the path for the city＇ s neo-urbanization and smarter city development. Finally, the key factors of promoting neo-urbanization are investigated.
