The process of tree structure analytic hierarchy that is used to make fault diagnosis of machinery and equipment is introduced. Moreover, the approach and regulation of founding tree is advanced. Utili zing the example of excavator fault diagnosis, the tree structure analytic hierarchy diagnosis model of the whole system and the hydraulic subsystem is constituted. Finally the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the fault diagnosis of excavator is recommended.
