Voyage Out,the first novel of Virginia Woolf,a modernist novelist,tells a story of the heroine named Rachel,who came from England to South America by boat for a vacation.The author paid close attention to ＂important moment＂ though his novel was largely written in a traditional way.The author revealed the gradually awakening of the hero＇s self-consciousness,which is also an important feature of all her works.In a sense,Voyage Out contains the seeds of all factors of innovation in the works of Woolf.
