评弹口述史不仅能够呈现一部多元、全息、个人化的评弹史，而且还为江南文化社会研究提供重要视角和资料。评弹百年口述史构建以艺人史为中心，旁及艺术发展史、书目传承史、流派演变史、书场史、社团史等部门或专题，以从多侧面呈现百年来评弹经历的风云变幻，以及与江南社会之间的因应、互动关系。

The oral history of story-telling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect can not only show the multi-element and personalized history with all information, but also provides important perceptive and sources for the culture and social studies in the areas south of the Yangtze River. This one-hundred year oral history will take artists as the center, accompanied by art history, history of bibliographic tradition, the evolution of genres, the book market history and community history from the multi-dimensional experiences as well as the interactive relationships in areas south of the Yangtze River.
