Ecological water demand is quantified into two parts of outside the river channel and inside the river channel.Based on the characteristics of the northern mountains of china,taking Luanhe River of Chengde City as an example,using a reasonable method of calculation,the ecological water demand of it was estimated.Finally,the results were analyzed and evaluated,and how to ensure the ecological water requirement to some certain recommendations were made on how to ensure the ecological water requirement.
