因客家文化以及客家菜名有其特殊之处,所以在翻译时需要采取与翻译其他菜系的不同方法。客家菜中有注明原料和烹调方法的常规菜名;也有非常规菜名,例如使用客家方言、菜品的形状以及附加寓意命名,翻译时可采用音译,直译,注释等技巧。另外,向外宾推荐客家菜应注意中西方文化差异,特别是狗肉的菜肴。

Due to the characteristics of the Hakka culture and Hakka dish names,translation of Hakka cuisine needs different translation techniques from other cuisines.Among Hakka dish names,there are conventional ones that are named after the raw materials and cooking methods used;there are also unconventional ones that are named after the Hakka dialect,the shape of the dishes,and additional implications.The following translation techniques can be used： transliteration,literal translation,notes.When recommending Hakka cuisine to foreigners,one should note differences between Western culture and Chinese culture,especially dog meat dishes.
