先秦至汉代出现了《诗经》的三种释诗体系,先秦最早出现的乃"断章取义"体系,汉代的为"比兴美刺"体系,介于两者之间,出现于战国中晚期的则可以称为"喻"的体系,其核心概念为"以色喻于礼"。此一释诗体系既不"断章取义",也不运用"比兴美刺",其特色是把整首诗歌理解为一个从色到礼的简单叙事,毫不避讳汉儒极力隐蔽的男女私情、"好色之愿",旨在通过一个相对简单的"喻"的过程,从满足个人欲望转向遵守礼仪规范,从而启发人们知晓礼仪。这一过程做到了色和礼、私和公的两全,被称为"改"。"以色喻于礼"命题有助于我们把握《诗经》的美育意义。

From the Pre/ | Qin period to Han Dynasty three different systems were adopted to interpret the Book of Songs.The earliest system in Pre/ | Qin period is"quoting poems out of their contexts".The dominating system in Han Dynasty is Bi/ | Xing and Mei/ | Ci.Another system that appeared during the late Warring States Period is called"the enlightening system".The core of this system is to inform people of proper etiquette through poetry with reference to the theme of desire.The feature of this system is that a single poem is understood as one story depicting a shift from seeking to gratify personal desires to pursuing social etiquette.Through such a process of transformation,people are taught to conform to etiquette.A comprehensive understanding of "the enlightening system"helps us to better evaluate the aesthetic value of the Book of Songs.
