“卓越工程师”背景下的大学英语教学必须顺应“卓越工程师教育培养计划”要求，通过改革教学方法和创新人才培养模式，培养具有较高综合素质和实践能力的工程技术人才。以上海第二工业大学“卓越工程师”班大学英语教学改革实践为例，从教学目标、课程设置和教学模式三方面探索“卓越工程师”背景下的大学英语新课程体系建设，以求构建一套行之有效的教学体系，最终达到培养卓越工程人才的目的。

College English teaching for Outstanding Engineers must adjust to the program for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers, aiming at cultivating more comprehensive and practical engineering and technical personnel, via reforming the teaching method and creative talents training model. A new English teaching system for Outstanding Engineers is introduced from the three aspects of teaching aims, curriculums and teaching models, based on the experience of Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, which aims to establish an effective teaching system to cultivate engineering and technical personnel.
