刘勰“正纬”的原因在于神学化的“纬”已经严重地偏离于“经”，刘勰要“宗经”，就必然要“正纬”。刘勰主要采用比较的方法来“正纬”。首先从“经”的角度来“按经验纬”，即从“经”与“纬”的生成比较、横向比较以及“纬”的纵向流变等三个方面逐层深入地论证了“正纬”的主要内容就是要正“纬”体之伪。其次从“文”的角度来比较“经”、“纬”与“文”三者之间的相互关系，进一步得出“纬”体无益于“经”却有助于“文”的辩证结论。刘勰“正纬”所达成的目的不仅在于为了维护“经”的神圣地位而去纠正“纬”背离于“经”的外在现象，而且在于揭示出在“经”、“纬”与“骚”三者之间互动着辩证思维的内在态势。

Liu Xie attempts to prove Wei Style＇s errors due to its theologizing and removing from Jin in other way and his attempt is to put it back to orthodox. The methodologies he employed are mainly about correcting Wei＇s errors. Firstly, he refutes the hypocrisy of Wei style by presenting three comparisons： generating relationship, diatropic relationship and lengthways flowing of Wei. Secondly, he compares the relationships between “Wen”, “Jin” and “Wei”. By comparison he concludes that Wei tributes to Wen but not Jin. His intention is not only to protect the orthodoxy position of the Wei by correcting the errors but also to expose the dialectic and interactive relationship of “Jin”, ＂Wei＂ and ＂Shao＂ to us.
