基督教和“《圣经》韩译”分别在内容和语言层面对韩国文学的现代化转型产生了重大而深远的影响。《圣经》的思想内容迅速融入韩国人的精神世界，并在“新小说”中体现出来。“《圣经》韩译”促使韩国逐渐形成本民族自身的语言文字体系，并促进了以“言文一致”为目标的“国语国文运动”顺利地开展。而在中国，基督教同样经历了传播和“汉译”的过程，却难以获得知识分子和大众的心理认同，这与中韩两国不同的宗教信仰基础、儒学影响程度及心理接受机制等有着密切关系。

Christianity and the“Korean translation of the Holy Bile”exerted significant and profound influences on the modernization of Korean literature in terms of both content and language. The thoughts and contents of the Holy Bible made a rapid integration with the spiritual world of the Korean people, and were embodied in the“new novels”. The“Korean translation of the Holy Bile”contributed to the development of the spoken and written systems of the Korean nation, and f acilitated the“National Language Movement”that aimed at the“consistency of the spoken and written f orms”. Although the dissemination and“Chinese translation”of Christianity also took place in China, the religion failed to reach the inner acceptance by the Chinese intellectuals and masses, which has close relationships with the different religious backgrounds, the different extents of Confucian inlfuences, and the different manners of mental acceptance in China and in Korea.
