A color sorting experiment platform based on FPGA and linear CCD is presented in this paper. Under Ihe platform, the dropping grains of rice is dynamically scanned by the linear CCD to acquire rice images, which are analyzed and processed by FPGA to identify heterochromatic grains of rice, then the unqualified grains of rice are picked out through the separating equipment. The design of the hardware platform and the color sorting algorithm are described in detail. This study provides important reference for the development of high-performance ric, e color sorter.
