Combining with the features of the soil and rock in Shanxi ( loess landform area), the geological conditions and the features for the de sign of tailing dam projects, the paper points out some suggestions for the factual design of the tailing dams, indicates some concrete measures for the stability and the anti-leakage design of the tailing dams, so as to provide some reference for similar projects in future.
