文章以增强学生的跨文化意识为目的，针对高校英语专业学生目前在英语阅读教学过程中的第二文化学习和老师的第二文化教学状况进行了调查和分析，借此找出英语阅读教学中的文化教学存在的问题和学生对第二文化的需求，同时从英语阅读的教材选择、课堂教学过程、课外活动、教师资源利用以及科研促进文化教学等方面提出改善第二文化教学的建议和方法。

For the purpose of strengthening the students' cross-cultural awareness, a systematic and detailed investigation and analysis was carried out among the English majors in a university in terms of the current second culture acquisition and teaching in English reading teaching process to find out the students' problems and demands for the second culture, as well as put forward some suggestions and methods concerning second culture teaching from the English reading material selection, classroom instruction, extra- curricular activities, the use of teacher resources and promotion of culture teaching by scientific research.
