康熙和乾隆在位期间，各有六次南巡。两位皇帝南巡各有利弊。康熙六次南巡体现勤政节俭的同时，有一定的弊端。相对乾隆南巡而言，康熙前两次南巡可以说是比较节俭的。但他后几次南巡，也有一些奢侈的表现。乾隆则在南巡中仿效康熙，采取了阅兵阅射、尊孔祭孔、重视教育、优礼士子和治理河务等一系列具有积极意义的措施。因而，乾隆南巡并非一味游山玩水那么简单，其功绩不可泯灭。纵观康乾南巡的历史可知，二者在南巡的具体活动上有许多相似之处。从根本上说，二者都是封建专制主义下的一种政治行为，应给予比较客观的评价。

During their reigns, Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong had made six tours to the south. There are both advantages and disadvantages in their southern tours. Kangxi' s six southern tours reflect a lot advantages, such as diligent,thrifty and loving. Meanwhile, there are some disadvantages. Relatively,the first two southern tours made by Kangxi can be said more frugal than Qianlong' s southern tours. But after his southern tour several times, some luxury performances. In Qianlong' s tours to the south, he imitated Kangxi, taking series of posi- tive measures such as pursuing the parade, offering sacrifices to Confucius, emphasizing on education, giving preference to people of vision, and making the regulation of river and so on. Therefore, Qianlong' s southern tour is not just a simple sightseeing tour. Its merit could not disappear. Throughout the history, there are many similarities of the two emperor' s southern tours. Fundamentally speaking,the two emperors southern tours are a kind of political behavior under the feudal despotism, and we should make the quite objective evaluations.
