This paper introduces the application of dual retention aid system with compositions of cationic guar gum(CGG) and cationic polyacrylamide(CPAM) in low weight paper production.Through comparison of efficiency of dual retention aid system of CPAM and CGG,single retention aid system of CPAM and dual retention aid system of CPAM and APAM,it was determined that dual retention aid system of CPAM and CGG was more suitable for low weight paper production.When CPAM and CGG dosages were both 0.4 kg/t(based on bone dry paper),the dual retention aid system of CPAM and CGG has significant efficiency.
