Development procedure and characteristics of polyethylene catalysts including Ziegler-Natta catalyst,Phillips catalyst,metallocene catalyst,late transition metal catalyst and hybrid catalysts were reviewed.Research progress of preparing bimodal polyethylene and other high performance polyethylene products by hybrid catalysts was introduced emphatically.This paper concluded that hybrid catalysts were essential for domestic single reactor polyethylene process technology.
