杜甫对李白的叙写主要有三类，正是这三类描写，刻画了全方位的李白形象。在整个唐代，也只有杜甫这般细致描摹出了李白姿态，这最早同时也是最真实的描绘，于后人认识李白，具有非凡之意义。社甫对李白诗歌的推崇，也正是体现了南北文化合流在李白身上的体现，奏出了真正的盛唐之音。可以说，杜甫叙写李白，在树立了李白形象及诗坛地位的同时，也问接确立了李杜的并列地位。
두보대리백적서사주요유삼류，정시저삼류묘사，각화료전방위적리백형상。재정개당대，야지유두보저반세치묘모출료리백자태，저최조동시야시최진실적묘회，우후인인식리백，구유비범지의의。사보대리백시가적추숭，야정시체현료남북문화합류재리백신상적체현，주출료진정적성당지음。가이설，두보서사리백，재수립료리백형상급시단지위적동시，야문접학립료리두적병렬지위。
The narrations and descriptions of Li Bai by Du Fu can be divided into three categories which de- picted the image of Li Bai from all aspects. Throughout the Tang Dynasty, only could Du Fu delineate Li Bai~ pos- ture in such details, which was the earliest and most realistic depiction, so such depiction was of extraordinary sig- nificance for later generations to comprehend Li Bai. The high praise of Li Bai$ poetry by Tu Fu embodied the con- fluence of southern culture with the northern one on Li Bai and produced a real music of the prosperous Tang Dy- nasty. It can be said that, when describing Li Bai and fostering his image and status in the poetic circles, Du Fu established his parallel status with Li Bai, as well.
