摘要：饲草是发展畜牧业的物质基础，要大力发展畜牧业必须有足够的饲草料资源，但和田地区各县（市）普遍存在饲草短缺，利用率低，浪费严重等的问题，畜增，草缺的矛盾日趋突出，制约着畜牧业的发展速度。和田地区人多、地少，水资源十分紧张，在扩大林果业面积和经济作物种植面积的同时，拿出大量耕地来种植饲草、解决草料不足的问题是不现实的。和田地区畜牧业以农区畜牧业为主，和田农区畜牧业的特点决定了饲草的加工利用是稳步发展和田农区畜牧业的必由之路，要发展和田的农区畜牧业，就必须科学合理地开发利用现有的各类秸秆等饲草资源，以内涵挖潜为主，充分发挥农作物秸秆资源优势，加强饲草料的加工和提高秸秆的利用率，应成为我们相当一段时间内工作的主攻方面，这是解决饲草短缺问题的一条有效途径。
