越王允常是春秋晚期的越国君王。允常的都城,史载在埤中。埤中的地望,至今尚无定论。《吴越春秋》说埤中在诸暨北界。《元和郡县图志》《旧唐书》说诸暨为允常之都。孟文镛《越国史稿》说在今诸暨东北的店口、阮市一带。笔者综合冯普仁《吴越文化》的观点以及考古资料,认为埤中在今萧山南部的临浦镇一带,这既有天险可守,又适合当时越王允常迅速北上趁虚袭吴（前505年）,摆脱对吴国的附属关系,称王兴霸的情形。

Yunchang is the Emperor of Yue State in late Spring and Autumn Period.It is recorded that the capital was located somewhere in Bizhong;however,where it was definitely located remains yet to be proven.According to the record in Wu Yue in Spring and Autumn Period,Bizhong was in the north of Zhuji.Yuanhe Town Album and The History of the Early Tang Dynasty record that Zhuji was the capital of Yue State in the reign of Emperor Yunchang.The History of Yue,compiled by Meng Wenyong records that the capital was located in Diankou or Ruanshi in the northeast of Zhuji.By referring to the record in The Culture of Wu Yue complied by Feng Puren and the archaeological materials,the author holds that Bizhong was located in Linpu Town in the south of Xiaoshan,which is guarded by natural barriers.Besides,it accords with the historical record that Emperor Yunchang marched northward rapidly and attacked Wu（A.C.505） and broke away from Wu State and proclaimed himself as emperor.
