Microbial fuel cells(MFCs) were introduced in this paper in respects of their composition and structure.The principles and affecting factors of power generation and wastewater treatment related to MFCs were assessed,and the application of MFC technology was analyzed.Finally,the problems concerning the development of MFC technology were summed up.
