战国七雄的都城均建于公元前5世纪以前，距今已有两三千年的历史，经考古发掘，证明它们均建都于河流沿岸的平原之上。而且充分利用平原地区的地理优势，使微地形的利用达到了极致，使城市建设辉煌壮丽；高台建筑皇宫雄伟，低平之地利用恰到好处，道路纵横交错、宽畅豁达，河渠清流、湖泊晶莹，郊区广阔、风景如画。战国七雄都城的城市建设，显然是经过精心规划的，对河流、地形的利用充分、周到，为今天的城市建设树立了样板。首先，对微地形的利用必须得到重视，无需挖高填低，巧妙利用不同地形布设不同建筑物，既省力又省经费，何乐而不为!其次，要合理布设道路，不仅有网状格局，而且必须十分宽畅，以适应城市发展的需要。再次，一定要留住郊区，促使城郊一体化发展，使城市有充分的绿肺和蔬菜、蛋、奶供应基地；同时也使城市预留有广阔的发展空间。战国七雄都城的城市建设经验十分丰富，值得今天城市建设学习和借鉴。

The capital cities of the Seven Warring States were all buik before the 5th century BC, having enjoyed a history of as long as 2000 or 3000 thousand years. Archaeological excavation found that they were all built on the plains along 'the rivers. Taking the advantage of plains, the micro - landforms were favorably used to make the city construction more splendid and magnificent. Majestic palaces were built on the high platforms, the low and fiat places were also perfectly used. Wide and straight criss - cross roads, crystal - clear rivers and lakes, open and spacious suburbs all took on a picturesque landscape. Obviously, the construction of capital cities of the Seven Warring States was deliberately planned, the proper and considerate use of rivers and landforms set a shinning example for today' s city construction.
