This paper, taking folk sayings in the Southern Min language as the starting point, presents an analysis of the cultural accretion of folk sayings in the Southern Min language and their status quo and role in the moderniza- tion process from a historical point of view. It is proposed in the paper that the folk sayings in the Southern Min lan- guage should be exploited to the benefit of developing the cultural industries, which will be of great significance to the development and study of the Southern Min culture.
