This paper mainly discusses how to get the border of an image. Firstly, use the method called gray symmetrization to increase the contrast ration. Secondly, process image by the method of gaus- sian filters. What is more, use more precise algorithm called Canny algorithm to get the border of an im- age. Based on this, we supply more precise presupposition for calculating the box dimension of the image with Matlab programming.
