Metabolic Engineering, also named Pathway Engineering, is a applied subject utilizing molecular biology principle to systematically analysis cell metabolic network and using recombinant DNA technology to design reasonably cell metabolic pathway and genetic modification, further completing the reconstruction of cell characters. Metabolic engineering exploit biochemistry, chemical engineering and mathematical analysis, so it offers researchers of different field new contents, at the same time becomes a hotspot presently.
