Analyses some characters of AES including the security, diffusivity, confusion and efficiency, and then compares with other symmetric encryption algorithms. Experimental result shows its great performance over other symmetric algorithms. As an application example of AES, develops a communication system by building a server and client under C# the platform to achieve the secure transmission of data based on AES via the Internet.
