This review focuses on the basic information regarding matrix tablets as a sustained delivery of drugs. Matrix tablets are most commonly used methods to modulate the release profile of drugs because they offer better patient compliance, reduces dose and side effects and increase safety margin. Various polymers and other materials can be used to design the most appropriate release profile and provide a viable and consistent mode of manufacture.
