This paper simply discussed the harms of saturated sandy soil and saturated silty soil caused by liquefaction in the earthquake, and the liquefaction mechanism and identification method of saturated sandy soil and saturated silty soil, and through the engineering example analyzed the liquefaction distinguishing method of saturated silty soil in Bengbu area. In order to improve the liquefaction distinguishing precision, further detailedly analyzed the factors influenced the liquefaction, provided help for reasonable liquefaction resistance design.
