This paper launches a study on the flange opening steel beam existing in practical engineering, studies the section strength of flange opening H-shaped steel beam at opening position with finite element analysis method, and considers the impacts of opening location and opening quantity upon the steel beam strength, and shows applicable compacting and reinforcing measures, with a view to guide practice.
