Linear Equalizer should be used to reduce Inter-Symbol Interference due to multi-path transmit. RLS algorithm with better convergence was discussed and used in underwater acoustic communication systems. Simulation was made according to various missing factors and different initial values for linear equalizer. Finally simulated results were analyzed. Simulated results explained the functional differences of missing factors and initial values for RLS algorithm, and provided references for application of RLS algorithm in underwater acoustic communication systems.
