There are two commonlyused schemes in the boiler makeup water treatment system. One is featured by ultrafiltration,reverse osmosis and EDI, the other is characterized by ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and ion ex change desalination. This essay draws a comparison between the two from both economical and technological per spectives and proposes the integrated membrane system be used in specific engineering conditions.
