The general function, composition and main features of Fregat, Russian upper stage, were introduced in this paper. The key technologies of geometry deployment, bearable force of the tank, independence and autonomous, liquid-solid coupling and large sloshing, and multiply start were presented. The typical applications such as 2003 Mars exploration of ESA, 2005 Venus exploration of ESA and Mars exploration of China and Russian jointed were given out.
