方言既是地域文化的重要组成部分，又承栽着积淀深厚的地域文化，与地域文化在形成过程中相辅相成，相互促进，在地域文化的发展演变过程中有着无可替代的独特作用。要了解和传承民族文化或地域文化，保护非物质文化遗产，就这些特殊目的而言，必须保护和提倡方言。通过分析地域文化以及地域文化与方言的关系，并以商州方言为例，概述其承载的地域文化信息并得出结论。方言在地域文化传承中起着无可替代的作用，进而提出保护方言的必要性。

Dialect is not only an important part of regional culture, but also carries regional culture which is deeply rooted. Dialect and regional culture are complementary and mutually reinforcing during the formation. It plays an irreplaceable unique role in the development and evolution of regional culture. To understand and inherit national culture or regional culture and protect intangible cultural heritage, it is necessary to protect and advocate dialect. By analyzing regional culture and the relationship between regional culture and dialect, it summarizes regional cultural information carried by Shangzhou dialect and gets the conclusion that dialect plays an irreplaceable role in the regional cultural heritage, and then proposes the necessity to protect dialect.
