In consideration of the features of off-gases from volatile kiln and multi-hearth roaster, such as flow and composition fluctuation and low SO2 concentration, a soda-lime double alkali desulphurization process was selected. The process principles, flow, main equipment and operation of plant are described. Since put into op- eration, the plant has been running smoothly. Gypsum slag byproduct could be used to produce building blocks and plastering anhydrite. SO2 emissions was ≤277mg/m3 and satisfied the new environmental standards.
