中国的老年教育是随人口老龄化的进程而发展起来的。在回顾发展历程后，指出中国老年教育已经从离退休干部的保健娱乐发展为广大社会老年人口的素质教育。促进中国老年教育现代化，要处理好九个关系。同时探讨了老年教育的领导模式和组织方式，提出相应的发展目标和政策建议：完善法规，建立老年教育委员会以统筹各地老年教育，制定发展规划，整合教育资源，编写适用教材及开展学术研究和交流。

The education of the aged in China is developed with the aging tendency of population. In this paper, we review the development of the education of the aged in China. The aim of the education of the aged in China is to provide quality-oriented education for the masses of the old people, not to provide care and entertainment for the retired cadres. Because of this, to pro- mote modernization of the education of the aged in China, we should deal with nine relationships. We discuss the leadership style and organization of the education of the aged, and put forward the corresponding development goals and policy suggestions ： per- fect rules and regulations, establish a special eommittee, formulate a development planning, integrate resources, write applicable teaching materials, and have academic research and exchange for the edueation of the aged.
