从文化传统、思维方式和社交礼节等几个方面论述了中西文化差异对英汉翻译中语义理解和传达所产生的影响,并有针对性地对大学英语翻译教学提出了如加强中西文化教学,培养学生跨文化意识,将翻译教学纳入大学英语教材体系等建议。

Languages are closely related to cultures.From aspects of cultural traditions,ways of thinking and social etiquettes,this paper explores the influences of cultural differences on semantic comprehension and communication in translation between English and Chinese,and accordingly makes some suggestions that we should enhance cultural teaching,cultivate students＇ cross-cultural awareness and put translation teaching into teaching material systems.
