Oxidation number and valence of elements which were different and had a certain relationship. It was nec- essary to follow certain rules to determine the oxidation number of some elements in the complex compounds. The rules for determining the oxidation number of elements in the simple inorganic compounds and complex organic compounds were discussed in detail.
