明代潮调剧本《荔枝记》、《金花女》、《苏六娘》依据明代潮州话声韵唱念。从曲文的押韵情况看，它们的韵母系统和今天的潮汕话音系是基本一致的。

명대조조극본《려지기》、《금화녀》、《소륙낭》의거명대조주화성운창념。종곡문적압운정황간，타문적운모계통화금천적조산화음계시기본일치적。
Lizhi Ji （ A Story of Lizhi ） , Jinhua Nv （The Golden Flower Girl） and Suliu Niang （Madam Sulu ） are scripts of Chaodiao opera in the Ming Dynasty, with their singing and speech based on Chaozhou dialect in the Ming Dynasty. The rhyme system of singing words in these scripts is basically consistent with Chaozhou-Shantou dialect today.
