One of the development trends of embedded systems is the development based on the platform, including hardware platform and software platform. Open real-time embedded software platform TOPPERS(Toyohashi Open Platform for Embedded Real-time Sys- tem) is a comprehensive platform which contains a variety of embedded real-time operating system, middleware and software develop- ment tools, and it can be used for a number of areas. This paper introduces TOPPERS's the history,current situation,development plan in next 10 years, promotion in China and current research work based on TOPPERS.
