The Bluest Eye was the first novel of Toni Morrison who was the first Afro-American female writer to win the Noble Prize of literature in U.S.A.In this novel,she disclosed the aesthetic value’s twist and distortion of Afro-Americans under the multiple oppressions,such as race oppression,class oppression and gender oppression.Afro-Americans’ confusion of self identity of black was also shown in the novel.From the perspective of Peirce’s Semiology to analyze The Bluest Eye,this paper makes the readers feel deeply Morrison’s the special observation of the society of the American blacks,her arousing of the awakening of self identity of Afro-Americans in the society of the American blacks and her great achievement on the development of Black Culture.
