Some concrete measures of preventing the failure of drilling rods are discussed from different angles like the design of drilling rod structure, the control of production quality and maintenance. It is suggested that defaults of technological design can be removed by optimizing the structure design of drilling rod; that quality of drilling rod can be controlled from the origin by means of executing mill supervision; and service period of drilling rod can be extended through the daily maintenance, periodic examination, and the establishment of drilling electronic records.
