通过对36份西洋参种苗的质量研究，据种苗根重及根长2项指标．制定了西洋参种苗分级标准。种苗分级标准为：1年生根重≥1．61，根长〉14．04，2年生根重≥3．26，根长≥9．64，3年生根重≥10．13，根长≥20．25划为I级种苗；1年生根重在1．47～1．61之间，根长在3．664．04之间，2年生根重在2．97～3．26之间，根长在8．76—9．64之间，3年生根重在8．31－10．13之间，根长在17．76—20．25之间划为Ⅱ级种苗；1年生根重≥1．33，根长≥3．36，2年生根重≥2．69，根长≥8．03，3年生根重≥6．61，根长≥15．72划为Ⅲ级种苗；其余为不合格种苗。

The American ginseng seedling grading standards was laid down on the indicators of root weight and root length of 36 American ginseng seedlings, with weight ≥ 1.61g and length ≥ 4.04 cm of 1-year-aged root, weight ≥ 3.26g and length ≥ 9.64cm of 2-year-aged root, weight i〉 10.13g and length ≥ 20.25cm of 3-year-aged root classified as grade I seeds, weight between 1.47g and 1.61g, length between 3.66cm and 4.04cm of 1-year-aged root, weight of 2.97g to 3.26g, length between 8.76cm and 9.64cm of 2-year-aged root, weight between 8.31g and 10.13g, root length between 17.76cm to 20.25cm of 3-year-aged classified as grade 11 seed, weight ≥ 1.33g and length ≥ 3.36cm of 1-year-aged root, weight ≥ 2.69g and length ≥ 8.03cm of 2-year-aged root, weight ≥ 6.61g and length ≥ 15.72cm of 3-year-aged root classified as grade Ⅲ seedlings, the rest of substandard seedlings.
