In this paper, it analysis and compare the traditional drilling technology and DTH hammer drill- ing technology. Combine with continuous practice and exploration in water drilling, it proved: according to the engineering geologic features of different stratum, the composite application of these two technology can im- prove the well completion speed and quality in southwest drought area.
