The paper introduces formulation of chemical cleaning scheme and the cleaning of a power plant. Due to tiny fine cracks in the sample water-cooling tube and copper content is as high as 15%. Therefore , se-lect glycollic acid plus formic acid instead of hydrochloric acid for cleaning. The cleaning process is improved:firstly, use ammonia cleaning for copper removal and then adopt acid cleaning , rinsing and passivation after thorough water flushing to achieve the goal of decoppering and copper plating prevention. The cleaning effect turns out to be great. The process has advantages of saving desalted water and eliminating phosphate cleaning after copper removal by ammonia cleaning; it has wide application prospect and significant economical effi-ciency.
