Test for English Majors Grade Eight（TEM8）is a national examination which is widely known for its credibility, effectiveness, and authority. It aims at measuring the candidates＇ listening, speaking, writing and translating abilities. Translation as an important part of the test can be benefited from the theory of translation shift for its unique perspectives of translation and practical translation strategies. The paper tries to give an elaborate explanation of noun translation and related translation strategies from the perspective of＇the translation shift theory with the examnles in TEM8.
