The principles and structure of vibrating wire settlement gauge are described. Based on the monitoring data of concrete face rockfill dam of Shuanggou Hydropower Station, the settlement rules of the concrete face rockfill dam are analyzed. The causes for periodic changes in the measured values are discussed, and the main ones are related to change of the water temperature in the pipe. The problems of vibrating wire profiler used in the concrete face rockfill dam are reviewed.
