生境破碎是生物多样性丧失、生态系统持续恶化的最根本原因，破碎生境的治理是势在必行的全球性难题。云南作为关乎5亿人口的生态屏障，生境破碎已严重削弱了其生态功能的发挥，如何持续推进生境破碎的治理，既是社会各界广泛关注的焦点问题，又是云南实施可持续发展战略绕避不开的难题。生态大通道的规划建设对生境破碎背景下的生态保护实践具有很强的针对性，其实施可使生物有条件突破破碎带对其形成的包围圈，一方面有利于云南生态系统趋向于完整发展，有效发挥其“生态屏障”的功能；另一方面，又有利于协调生态保护与经济发展的关系，讲而提升云南牛态律设与绎济律设的屡次与7k平．

Broken habitat is the root cause for the loss of biological diversity and the continuous deterioration of eco- logical systems. The treatment of broken habitat is an imperative global challenge. Yunnan is an ecological barrier for 500 million people, whose broken habitat has weakened its ecological function. How to continuously promoting the treatment of the broken habitat is both a focus of concern of various fields in society and an unavoidable challenge to implementing the sustainable development strategy of Yunnan. The planning and construclion of the great ecolog- ical channel is specifically targeted at the ecological protection practice against the backdrop o~ broken habitat, whose implementation can break through the besiege of broken zones, which on the one hand is helpful for the ecological system in Yunnan to fully develop and to effectively exercise its function as a ＂ecological barrier＂, and on the other hand is helpful for coordinating the relationship between ecological protection and economic development by way of ＂ purposive＂ macroscopic planning and implementation of targeted measures, so as to raise the level of ecological con- struction and economic construction in Vunnan.
