英语专业人才思辨缺席问题已成为近年来英语专家和英语教育工作者研究的热点之一。从英语语言学习、交际能力、思辨能力的概念入手,探讨什么是语言学习者的思辨能力,以及为什么英语专业人才会产生思辨缺席,并结合当前英语教学中所存在的问题提出了一些提高英语思辨能力,实现有效课堂教学的建设性意见。

Lack of critical thinking as evidenced in most graduates of English major has been one of the most important issues studied by English language researchers and teachers. This paper explores the learning process of English language, communicative approach teaching, and the meaning of critical thinking. It tries to figure out what critical thinking means to the English majors and why they are lacking in it. It also addresses some problems in current English language teaching, and puts forth some constructive suggestions to both teachers and students of English on how to improve the ability of critical thinking and to conduct an effective classroom teaching.
