Aiming at the problems of serious carbonation, high consumption of sulphuric acid existed in the purification process of acetylene with sulfuric acid in 50 000 t/a PVC plant, improvements were made. The running situations before and after improvement were compared. After improvement, the amount of carbon compounds were obviously decreased, the consumption of sulphuric acid was lowered, and 3. 445 million RMB ¥ could be saved per year.
