汉语数字具有丰富的文化内涵和外延。＂三＂作为较具有代表性的汉语数字,不仅表示具体的确数,还具有虚指功能,语义相当模糊。三字语义的模糊性要求我们在翻译中不能只拘泥于本身的数值,而必须要考虑它所存在的语言环境,精心选择适当词语,既译其义,又译其韵。

Chinese Figures have rich cultural connotations.As one of the typical Chinese figures,＂San＂（three）not only expresses a concrete numerical concept but also functions as a fuzzy referent.Its fuzziness requires a translator not to confine his translated version to its conceptual meaning but to take into consideration its context and choose the word for an ideal translation.
